State Senator and Union City Mayor Reaches Out to NJ Legislators Over “Dirty Politics”

State Senator and Union City Mayor Brian P. Stack reached out to New Jersey’s State Senators and Assembly Members through a personal letter apologizing for “Hudson County dirty politics.”

An insider source has revealed to HudPost that these communications are linked to “Leroy Truth,” a self-proclaimed investigative journalist who has been at the center of controversy since December 2023.

In the letter, which HudPost has obtained, Stack expresses his apologies to his fellow legislators for the “barrage of inappropriate emails” that have plunged Hudson County’s political scene into turmoil. “I am deeply sorry for the distraction and disruption caused by these relentless attacks. They are unbecoming of the political integrity we strive to uphold in our service to the public,” Stack writes, emphasizing the personal toll these incidents have taken.

According to Stack, these emails are the direct result of actions taken by the former State Senator and current North Bergen Mayor Nicholas Sacco.

“It’ s obvious that these messages are the result of the actions of a disgruntled political boss, who also serves as the mayor of North Bergen,” Senator Stack says in the letter. “This has gone on for 17 years, involving not only behind the scenes but also public attacks on my family, supporters, and administration.”

This campaign of harassment has recently intensified, Stack notes, following redistricting efforts that have placed North Bergen within his new state district.

Mayor Sacco denied these allegations in a statement made to HudPost “I have never sent anyone into Union City and never said that I did. It’s clear that Mayor Stack is under a great amount of pressure and it’s unfortunate that he is displaying this kind of paranoia.”

The unfolding situation signals a potential turning point in the battle against the entrenched Hudson County political machine.
