On March 28, 2024, the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway in Jersey City became the new home for “Of Many Minds,” a sculpture exhibit by artist Michael Alfano. Sponsored by the Exchange Place Alliance, this captivating display stretches from the Exchange Place PATH Station to the Paulus Hook ferry terminal and features 15 unique sculptures.

Michael Alfano is celebrated for his ability to merge figurative and surrealistic elements in his sculptures, which are designed to spark conversation and curiosity among viewers. Set against the magnificent lower Manhattan skyline, the sculptures provide a compelling contrast and enrich the pedestrian experience along the waterfront.

The exhibit was officially opened on April 19, 2024, by Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop, who participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The launch event also included guided public walks through the exhibit.

With a career spanning over two decades and more than 70 awards from juried art shows, Alfano’s sculptures are featured in private and public collections worldwide, including permanent installations in the U.S., India, and Greece. His work is often highlighted in the media for its innovative approach and philosophical depth.

The “Of Many Minds” exhibit reflects Alfano’s philosophy that “the best art engages, generates discussion, and brings about change.” Each sculpture is accompanied by quotations that encourage deep reflection.

The sculptures will remain on display until March 2025, offering a year-long opportunity for Hudson County residents and visitors to engage with the art. Additional information about each sculpture and insights into the artist’s vision are available by visiting MichaelAlfano.com.
