Super Bowl Champs McCourty Twins Team Up with JCPOBA for Blood Drive in Jersey City

Jersey City, NJ – The Jersey City Police Officers Benevolent Association (JCPOBA) is teaming up with Super Bowl champions Jason and Devin McCourty, along with several community organizations, to host a blood drive aimed at raising awareness for sickle cell disease. The event will take place on Sunday, February 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the New Jersey City University GSUB MPR Room.
Devin and Jason McCourty both enjoyed 13-year careers in the NFL and made history as the first twin brothers to win a Super Bowl together as members of the New England Patriots in 2018.
Devin McCourty, who played his entire career with the Patriots, won three Super Bowls and was a 12-time team captain. Known for his leadership on and off the field, he was nominated four times for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award. He now works as a football analyst for NBC’s Football Night in America and Westwood One Radio.
Jason McCourty, a former cornerback, played for the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, New England Patriots, and Miami Dolphins. His Super Bowl win with the Patriots in 2018 was a defining moment in his career. After retiring in 2022, he transitioned to broadcasting, now serving as a co-host on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football and a game analyst for CBS Sports.
The McCourty Twins launched their Tackle Sickle Cell campaign in 2013 in partnership with Embrace Kids Foundation to educate the public, increase blood donations, and support families affected by the disease. To date, the initiative has raised nearly $3 million to assist those battling sickle cell, a condition that primarily affects Black and Latino communities in the U.S.
“Sickle cell disease is an ongoing battle for many families, and we are proud to join forces with The McCourty Twins to make a difference,” said Letia Nalls, JCPOBA Vice President. “This blood drive is a way for our community to show support and help save lives.”
Participants who donate blood will receive an autographed photo, a free ticket to the 2025 All About Us Juneteenth Festival, and entry into a raffle for 2025 Summer Jam tickets.
