Target Opens New Store in Jersey City

Target previewed its new store at 381 Route 440 in Jersey City this week ahead of its official opening on May 17, welcoming elected officials and community partners for an advance look at the location.
The store will hire 183 team members and features a larger food department than Target’s existing Jersey City location. In-store amenities include Starbucks and CVS, along with same-day services including Drive Up, Order Pickup, and same-day delivery.
Store Director Aneudy Rodriguez, a 16-year Target team member and Jersey City resident, said the new location is focused on serving the community. “Our team is focused on creating a shopping experience that is welcoming and easy,” Rodriguez said.
Jersey City Council President Denise Ridley said the store expands resources in the Ward A community. “We send a special congratulations to the new Store Director and Jersey City resident, Aneudy Rodriguez,” Ridley said.
Mira Prinz-Arey, Executive Director of the Jersey City Economic Development Corporation, said the opening supports the city’s economic goals. “The new store will bring jobs and added convenience for residents, while helping support our city’s long-term economic vitality,” Prinz-Arey said.
