Two Arrested in North Bergen in Connection to Fentanyl and Firearms Trafficking
N– Two men have been arrested following an undercover investigation into drug and firearm trafficking, according to an amended criminal complaint filed in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
Authorities say Pablo Suruy Hernandez engaged in multiple illegal transactions with a confidential informant over the course of several weeks in early 2025. The complaint details a series of meetings between Hernandez and the informant at various locations in North Bergen.
On January 16, Hernandez met with the informant near 8201 Bergenline Avenue to discuss potential sales of firearms and narcotics. Five days later, on January 21, the informant met Hernandez again, this time near 7801 Tonnelle Avenue. Hernandez arrived in a black Chevy Tahoe, entered the informant’s vehicle, and allegedly sold a black and orange Glock 19 with a defaced serial number for $1,300.
The investigation culminated on February 7, when Hernandez picked up the informant at the same location on Tonnelle Avenue and drove to a nearby parking lot near 7605 Tonnelle Avenue. There, another individual, identified as Giovanni Guzman, entered the vehicle carrying a black backpack filled with approximately 100,000 blue pills. Law enforcement later confirmed that the pills tested positive for fentanyl.
Following the exchange, officers moved in and arrested both Hernandez and Guzman. Authorities executed a search warrant at Hernandez’s residence, where they seized $65,000 in cash.
Both men are facing federal charges related to firearms trafficking and drug distribution. Prosecutors have not yet released details regarding upcoming court proceedings.
