Jersey City Man, 46, Sentenced to 10 Years for Possession of Child Sex Abuse Material
Jersey City, NJ – A Hudson County resident has been sentenced to a decade behind bars after being convicted for possession of child sexual abuse material. Jonathan Lattif, 46, from Jersey City, was handed a 120-month prison sentence by U.S. District Judge Claire C. Cecchi on Friday in Newark federal court.
Acting U.S. Attorney Vikas Khanna confirmed the sentencing, revealing that Lattif had previously admitted guilt in a plea agreement. Lattif was charged with possessing over 500 video files and a photograph depicting child sexual abuse, including material involving prepubescent children. The illegal content was discovered on his mobile device on March 18, 2022.
This is not Lattif’s first offense. He has a prior state conviction for possession of child pornography, underscoring his status as a repeat offender.
In addition to his prison sentence, Judge Cecchi ordered that Lattif serve 10 years under supervised release following incarceration.
