Harrison Invites Residents to Help Paint Its First Community Mural

Harrison is creating its first community mural, and residents are invited to pick up a brush and help paint it.

The project, called “Be Part of the Mural!”, is led by artist Caren Olmsted of the Olmsted Mural Group. The mural will be designed using community input, and residents are being invited to contribute directly during a series of open painting sessions.

“Harrison’s first community mural is coming to life, and we need your hands on it,” the project’s flyer says.

No artistic skill is required to take part, and all supplies and smocks will be provided. The sessions are open to the community and will be held in the gymnasium at the Harrison Community Center, 401 Warren Street.

The 90-minute painting sessions are scheduled across five dates: Thursday, September 24, from 12 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Friday, September 25, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday, September 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Monday, September 28, from 12 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.; and Tuesday, September 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
