Summer Sports: Three Fun Team Activities for an Active Child During the Summer

The Township of North Bergen is offering three different sport summer camp activities this year. Information about these three activities are as follows:

The first of the three is Volleyball Camp for children in grades 6 through 8. This camp will be from 3-5 PM on Mondays and Wednesdays from July 2nd through the 30th. Registration is open Monday to Friday, 2 – 9 PM, from now to June 28th at the North Bergen Recreation Center, 6300 Meadowview Ave.. It is limited to the first 75 children, and those registering need to bring a proof of residence, birth certificate, and the registration fee of $35.

The Summer Tennis Camp registration is also currently open through June 28th. This camp is open to children aged 9 through 14 and will run 3 – 5 PM Tuesdays and Thursdays from July 2nd to July 30th. The registration is at the Recreation Center as well, from 2 – 9 PM Monday through Friday and is limited to the first 75 children. Proof of residency and birth certificate are required, as well as a nonrefundable registration fee of $35; any form of payment is accepted.

The North Bergen Competitive Swim Team is the last of the three summer activities for children and teens. This is open to children and teens from 5 through 18 years old who know how to swim (it is not a program to teach them how to swim; they must pass a swim test). The registration is open from now to June 26th at the Recreation Center 2 – 9 PM Monday through Friday. Proof of residence and birth certificate are required to register for this as well, along with a $75 registration fee. You must also be prepared to pay for the swimsuit at registration.
