Victims Identified in Jersey City Domestic Violence Tragedy; Fundraiser Launched
Jersey City, NJ – Authorities have identified the victims and the suspect in the tragic triple homicide that occurred early Thursday morning on Hutton Avenue. Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez confirmed that the victims are 31-year-old Luisa Urbano and her two children, 9-year-old Juan Martin Urbano and 5-year-old Diana Ramirez, all residents of Jersey City.
The suspect, 31-year-old Napoleon Romero-Anduray, has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder, as well as weapons-related offenses. Romero-Anduray was found injured at the scene and is currently being treated at Jersey City Medical Center.
According to reports, officers from the Jersey City Police Department responded to a call around 12:15 a.m. on Thursday regarding a stabbing incident at 272 Hutton Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered the victims with severe stab wounds. Luisa Urbano was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 1:12 a.m. Her son Juan was declared dead at 12:58 a.m., and her daughter Diana succumbed to her injuries shortly after at 1:55 a.m. The cause and manner of their deaths are under further investigation by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
Community leaders and residents have expressed their grief and shock. Mayor Steven Fulop, who had previously addressed the matter, described the case as a “terrible domestic violence incident” and emphasized that support services, including chaplains and social workers, are available to those affected by the tragedy.
In response to the heartbreaking loss, a fundraiser has been launched to support the family of the victims. The campaign aims to cover funeral expenses and provide additional support for surviving relatives. Donations can be made through GoFundMe.
