Owner Seeks Safe Return of Stolen Cat from Bergenline Dry Cleaners

A beloved community cat named Luna was taken from Family Dry Cleaners, located at 6413 Bergenline Avenue, leaving her owners and neighbors hoping for her safe return.
Surveillance footage captures the moment Luna was taken from outside the business. A GMC was parked by a fire hydrant with two women inside. The passenger gets out first as pedestrians on the sidewalk appear to be looking for the cat. Shortly after, the driver exits the vehicle, gestures to get Luna’s attention, then picks her up and takes her into the car before driving away.
Community members believe the person who took Luna may have mistaken her for a stray, not realizing she had a home. While she did not have an ID tag or microchip, she was wearing a pink collar, which may have indicated she belonged to someone. They are urging the individuals who took her to return her safely.
Luna is well known in the area for sitting outside the dry cleaners, where she is friendly with customers and passersby.
“She is always sitting outside the business, and everyone knows she is friendly and lets anyone pet or carry her. But no one has ever taken her because they know she belongs to the cleaners,” said a community member assisting the store owner.
The store owner, who primarily speaks Spanish, is asking for the community’s help in locating Luna.
“Luna belongs to Family Dry Cleaners, located at 6413 Bergenline Avenue. If you have any information, please contact 862-287-5322. She may have been mistaken for a lost cat, but she has a home and a family who misses her dearly. Please bring Luna back ?,” reads a message in Spanish shared on behalf of the owner.
