Neglected Dog Found in North Bergen Receives Urgent Care

A severely neglected dog was found in North Bergen, prompting an investigation by the New Jersey Humane Society (NJHS) and local authorities. The dog, discovered in an uptown area, was malnourished and had matted fur restricting movement, suggesting prolonged neglect.
The North Bergen Police Department and NJHS Humane Officer Santini are seeking information on the dog’s owner or circumstances of abandonment. Anyone with knowledge is encouraged to call 201-861-4444 (Officer Santini) or 201-392-2100 (North Bergen PD). All calls will remain confidential.

NJHS has taken in the dog, and his medical expenses have exceeded $1,000, according to the organization. “This was cruel and inhumane,” NJHS stated in a social media post.
