Menendez, Sires Announce Over $1.2 Million In Federal Funding For New Recreation Center In West New York

U.S. Rep. Rob Menendez and Albio Sires announced more than $1.2 million in federal funding to support the construction of a new multi-use recreation center in West New York.
The funding, secured through the federal appropriations process as part of Community Project Funding, will help build a recreation center designed to expand access to recreational programs and community space for residents.
“I am proud to have secured more than $1.2 million in federal funding for a new recreation center and sports complex in West New York,” Menendez said in a statement. “This site will provide new amenities for children and families and create a great new community space.”
Sires said the new facility will support local programs and provide additional space for families and community activities.
“Our new recreation center will be a valuable home for many of our community programs and provide a new space for families to utilize in West New York,” Sires said.
According to Menendez’s office, the funding is part of $19,142,000 in federal funding secured for communities across the region this fiscal year.
Officials said the project aims to expand recreational opportunities and create a new gathering space for residents in West New York and nearby communities.
