Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office and Jersey City Police Investigate Fatal Shooting on Danforth Avenue
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Danforth Avenue in Jersey City. The victim, identified as Khalil King, a 23-year-old man from Fayetteville, North Carolina, was found unresponsive inside a retail establishment located at 152 Danforth Avenue with an apparent gunshot wound on Sunday, April 23, 2023.
According to the police report, the Jersey City Police Department received a report of shots fired in the area of Danforth Avenue at around 12:00 a.m. on Sunday. Responding officers found Khalil King inside the retail establishment and pronounced him dead at the scene at approximately 12:16 a.m. The cause and manner of death are still pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this case.
