Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla has announced that he will not seek re-election for a third term, confirming that 2025 will mark the end of his tenure. In a message to Hoboken residents, Bhalla reflected on his administration’s accomplishments and shared his decision to pursue a new path in public service.

Serving as Hoboken’s Mayor since 2018, Bhalla highlighted major milestones achieved under his leadership. These include securing the former Union Dry Dock site for public use, advancing pedestrian safety through the Vision Zero campaign, and opening ResilienCity Park, considered one of the largest resiliency parks in the country. He also emphasized efforts to protect the waterfront from development, preserve over 10 acres of public parkland, and adopt redevelopment plans aimed at revitalizing the city while maintaining its historic charm.

Expressing confidence in Hoboken’s future, Bhalla praised the city’s dedicated public servants and activists, stating his belief that residents will select a capable leader to continue the city’s progress.

“As your Mayor these past seven years, it has been the privilege of my lifetime,” Bhalla wrote. “The trust and confidence you have placed in me is something I will cherish forever.”
