HCCC and Stockton University Create Transfer Pathway to Cannabis Business Degree

Hudson County Community College and Stockton University signed an expanded academic agreement Tuesday, April 28, creating a direct transfer pathway for students pursuing careers in the cannabis industry. The signing took place at HCCC’s Gabert Library in Jersey City.
Under the new agreement, HCCC students earning an Associate of Science in Business Administration with a Cannabis Studies Option can transfer seamlessly into Stockton’s Bachelor of Science in Hemp and Cannabis Management program. The agreement also includes conditional dual admission to Stockton for HCCC students in their first year of study, along with joint advising and shared programming.
“This program-to-program agreement saves students time and tuition costs by eliminating duplication and repetition of courses, so students can earn their degrees in a seamless and more timely manner,” said HCCC President Dr. Christopher Reber.
Stockton Provost Dr. Michael A. Palladino noted his institution’s role as a pioneer in the field. “Stockton was the first college or university in New Jersey to offer an undergraduate degree in Cannabis Studies,” Palladino said. “This agreement not only streamlines the transfer process, but also ensures students are well-prepared with the specialized business knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed in the evolving hemp and cannabis marketplace in New Jersey.”
