West New York Man Arrested for Child Sex Abuse Material Offenses by Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force

West New York man, Joseph Suarez, 31, was arrested on January 18th by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force for child sex abuse material offenses. The arrest came after the task force received information that child sex abuse material was being created and shared through social media.

Suarez is charged with three different offenses, Endangered the Welfare of a Child/Facilitating Child Sex Abuse Material, a crime of the first degree; Endangered the Welfare of a Child/ Distribution of Child Sex Abuse Material, a crime of the second degree; and Endangered the Welfare of a Child/ Possession of Child Sex Abuse, a crime of the second degree.

During a court-authorized search of Suarez’s residence, over 1,000 files of child sex abuse material were seized. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may follow.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office is urging anyone with information about child sex abuse to call the Special Victims Unit (SVU) at 201-915-1234. The charges against Suarez are merely accusations, and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
