Hudson County Sheriff’s Office Remembers Detective Michael Soriano

The Hudson County Sheriff’s Office is remembering longtime Detective Michael Soriano following his passing after two decades of public service.
Soriano, 56, passed away on Oct. 2, 2026. Born in Jersey City, he graduated from Marist High School in Bayonne before earning his bachelor’s degree from Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City.
Soriano joined the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office in 2005, serving as a detective and active member of New Jersey PBA Local 334 in Bayonne. Colleagues remembered him for his steady judgment, professionalism, and quiet strength.
“Today, with heavy hearts, the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office said its final goodbye to Detective Michael Soriano as he was laid to his final resting place,” the Sheriff’s Office announced in a statement. “Though we must say goodbye, his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and served alongside him.”
Funeral services concluded on Oct. 9 at St. Philip the Apostle Church in Clifton, followed by entombment at Hollywood Memorial Park Mausoleum in Union.
Soriano is survived by his wife, Beverly A. Soriano, and stepsons Joseph E. Caramia and Daniel P. Caramia.
