Solomon Says Campaign Has Nearly $1 Million Ahead of Jersey City Mayoral Election

Ward E Councilmember James Solomon says his campaign has nearly $1 million in cash on hand, part of a larger effort that has raised close to $1.2 million ahead of the November Jersey City mayoral election.
According to Solomon’s campaign, nearly $400,000 was raised in the most recent quarter. Solomon raised just under $220,000 individually, while his slate brought in an additional $173,000.
“The support comes from 1,134 Jersey City donors who are eager to change Jersey City and make it a better place to live and raise a family,” said a campaign spokesperson. “Solomon has almost $1 million cash on hand.”
Campaign manager Stuart Thomas said in a statement that the fundraising reflects voter interest in changing city leadership. “Jersey City residents are hungry for change. That’s why we’ve seen such a surge in support from across the city,” Thomas said.
