Sherrill and Ciattarelli Win New Jersey Gubernatorial Primaries

U.S. Representative Mikie Sherrill and former Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli won their respective party nominations in New Jersey’s June 10 gubernatorial primaries.

Sherrill defeated rivals including Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop and Rep. Josh Gottheimer. “This was a truly grassroots campaign, and I’m so grateful to everyone who was a part of it,” Sherrill said after polls closed.

Ciattarelli secured the Republican nomination with more than 67 percent of the vote, bolstered by former President Donald Trump’s endorsement.

The two nominees will face off in the November 4 general election to succeed term-limited Governor Phil Murphy.
