“Put Yourself In My Shoes,” Mayor Stack’s Plea Amid Death Threats

Union City Mayor and NJ State Senator Brian Stack has disclosed severe harassment and threats directed at him and his associates. In a press release, Stack described the intensity of these threats, which have included death threats.

“Since becoming involved in politics, I’ve come to realize just how ugly it can be,” Stack stated. He emphasized the increasing hostility towards him, his family, staff, and supporters, allegedly orchestrated by North Bergen Mayor Nicholas Sacco.

“These attacks have not only been directed at me but also at my family, staff, and supporters in ways that are designed to threaten and intimidate. Almost unbelievably, I have even been the victim of death threats,” Stack explained.

One of the threatening messages received by Mayor Stack through the Union City website, provided to us by the city.

Tensions escalated to physical violence, with City Commissioner Grullon being assaulted at Stack’s campaign headquarters. Stack claims these attacks are organized and involve individuals from out of state.

This situation unfolds amid a longstanding rivalry with Sacco, who was pushed out of the State Senate due to redistricting, causing Stack to absorb Sacco’s district. Stack accused Sacco of commissioning Leonard Filipowski, also known as “Leroy Truth” or “Lexington Maximus,” to antagonize Union City’s administration. Sacco has denied these allegations, attributing them to Stack’s paranoia.

Adding to the controversy, Filipowski was recently arrested at a Union City Board of Commissioners meeting for disorderly conduct. He has since filed a lawsuit against Stack and the Union City Police Department, alleging civil rights violations and wrongful arrest.

Stack calls for public judgment based on his dedication and service to the community, urging residents to look past the smear campaigns and focus on his contributions to Union City.
