“The Only Person Causing Chaos and Division…is Brian Stack,” Says Mayor Sacco
North Bergen Mayor Nicholas Sacco has issued a response to recent allegations made by Union City Mayor and NJ State Senator Brian Stack. Stack had accused Sacco of orchestrating a campaign of harassment and threats against him, which included death threats and physical attacks on his associates.
In his statement, Sacco denied the allegations and accused Stack of being the real source of chaos and division in Hudson County. “The only person causing chaos and division in Hudson County is Brian Stack, and now he’s trying to play the victim by falsely accusing myself and other political leaders of something we have absolutely nothing to do with,” Sacco stated.
Sacco went further, accusing Stack of meddling in local elections and siding with Bergen County over Hudson County in the Governor’s race, actions Sacco claims are part of Stack’s ambition to become the new political boss of Hudson County. “Stack is meddling in local elections in Jersey City and multiple other municipalities and siding with Bergen County over Hudson County in the Governor’s race, all so he can try to become the new political boss of Hudson County,” Sacco asserted.
Sacco also referenced Stack’s past political maneuvers, pointing out that Stack had previously endorsed Republican Chris Christie in the 2013 gubernatorial election instead of supporting the Democratic Party candidate Barbara Buono. “He did the same thing in 2013 when he selfishly endorsed Chris Christie instead of supporting our Democratic Party candidate. Brian has shown over the years he only cares about himself and he will abandon anyone to satisfy his insatiable lust for power,” Sacco added.
Adding to the controversy, Leonard Filipowski, also known as “Leroy Truth,” who was recently arrested at a Union City Board of Commissioners meeting for disorderly conduct, has also spoken out. Filipowski has filed a lawsuit against Stack and the Union City Police Department, alleging civil rights violations and wrongful arrest.
In a statement, Filipowski criticized both Stack and the HudPost for their handling of the situation. “The letter that Mayor Stack sent out under the auspices of his New Jersey Senate Seat to the people of Union City and the obvious propaganda article that the HudPost did on Mayor Stack’s behalf shows you everything you need to know about how extraordinarily corrupt Union City, New Jersey government is. And how Mayor Stack controls the New Jersey press is exactly what dictators and despots do,” Filipowski stated.
He further urged the media to remain neutral and report the truth. “As I’ve always said to the people who have interviewed me from different New Jersey media, don’t support me, don’t be against me, don’t support Stack, and don’t be against Stack, simply report the truth, not his propaganda lies,” he added.
Filipowski claimed to have videos documenting systematic attacks, harassment, assault, and robbery against him over the last eight months, allegedly directed by Stack. He asserted that these actions were intended to deter his ongoing investigation allegations of corruption against Stack.
