Linda Roglen, 62, of North Bergen has been charged after allegedly striking multiple demonstrators with her vehicle during a July 12 protest on Fairview Avenue in Fairview, New Jersey. The rally, held near the border of Hudson and Bergen counties, was organized in opposition to federal immigration policies.

As previously reported by HudPost, the incident occurred while protesters were crossing the street. Initial footage showed Roglen’s vehicle clipping a man in a black shirt and shorts, causing him to fall. Witnesses stated that the driver, stopped at a red light, shouted support for ICE before accelerating into the group.

Newly obtained footage later revealed that following the first impact, demonstrators surrounded the vehicle and struck it. Roglen then accelerated again, running over an unknown number of individuals before fleeing the scene.

According to the Fairview Police Department, Roglen was arrested and has been charged with four counts of assault by auto resulting in bodily injury. She also faces several traffic violations, including careless driving, reckless driving, failure to stop for a pedestrian, leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to report an accident.

Three protesters were injured in the incident. One person sustained a knee injury and was transported to a local hospital. All injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

Publicly available voter registration records list Roglen as a registered Republican.
