Bill Brooks, NJ TRANSIT’s Senior Vice President of Capital Delivery, has been recognized with the Eagle Award from the New Jersey Alliance for Action for his role in advancing infrastructure projects across the state, including the replacement of the Portal Bridge in Hudson County.

“I’m honored to receive this prestigious award,” said Brooks. “I share it with our NJ TRANSIT team and the outstanding men and women I have had the privilege of working with during my career.”

Brooks oversees NJ TRANSIT’s capital delivery portfolio, including the Portal North Bridge project. The project involves replacing a 115-year-old swing bridge over the Hackensack River between Secaucus and Kearny with a new fixed-span structure. The bridge carries rail service along the Northeast Corridor, which connects New Jersey with New York and other major cities along the East Coast.

The Eagle Award is presented annually to individuals whose leadership has contributed to infrastructure development and economic advancement in New Jersey. Brooks was cited for his contributions to capital projects that align with NJ TRANSIT’s mission of safety, mobility, and service reliability.

Brooks has more than 35 years of experience in capital program management and infrastructure delivery. Before joining NJ TRANSIT, he held senior positions in both public agencies and private firms, including leadership of a transportation division at a nationally ranked engineering company operating in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He had also collaborated on NJ TRANSIT projects prior to assuming his current role.

The New Jersey Alliance for Action presented the award at its annual Eagle Awards dinner on October 30.
