Kearny Celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with Annual Parade

Kearny residents gathered over the weekend to mark St. Patrick’s Day with the annual parade hosted by the United Irish Associations of West Hudson.

Mayor Carol Jean Doyle and all seven members of the Town Council joined the march. The parade moved through Kearny, with crowds lining the sidewalks to watch bagpipers, Irish dancers, and community groups take part in the celebration.

The Town Council members present included Marytrine De Castro, George Zapata, Jose Rodrigues, Fred Esteves, Gerald Ficeto, and Stathis Theodoropoulos.

This year’s Parade Grand Marshal was Mark G. Wiggins. Deputy Grand Marshals Donna Deane Bocchino and Michael Stewart Mara were also honored for their community involvement and ties to the region’s Irish-American population.
