J&J Donates $100K to Stevens Pre-College Program

According to a report by The Stute, the independent student newspaper of Stevens Institute of Technology, the Stevens Accessing Careers in Engineering and Science (ACES) program has received a $100,000 donation from Johnson & Johnson.
ACES, founded in 2017, helps academically talented students from underrepresented backgrounds pursue careers in STEM. The donation will fund research opportunities and cover participation costs for up to 30 students in Stevens’ Pre-College Summer Program, ensuring that more students have access to the resources they need to succeed.
Johnson & Johnson’s support is said to help expand ACES partnerships with high schools across New Jersey, providing scholarships, mentorship, admissions guidance, and career-focused programs. At the undergraduate level, ACES students are welcomed into the Stevens Technical Enrichment Program (STEP), which includes financial aid, mentorship, and access to paid research opportunities.
“Recognizing that both are essential for long-term success, Johnson & Johnson chose to continue supporting this mission,” said Edlyn Thompson-Mettle, Director of Undergraduate Outreach Programs at Stevens.
