Jersey City Man Arrested on Charges of Sexual Assault of a Child

A Jersey City man was arrested Tuesday, June 17, in connection with sex crimes involving an 11-year-old girl, according to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez.
Charles Bordeaux, 42, was taken into custody by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Hudson County Regional S.W.A.T. team. He has been charged with second-degree sexual assault by contact and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child. Authorities also noted that Bordeaux had an outstanding warrant from Jersey City at the time of his arrest.
The incident occurred in January 2024 at a private residence. According to the prosecutor’s office, the juvenile victim did not know Bordeaux, although he was known to a person residing in the apartment where the alleged crimes took place.
Bordeaux was arrested at his residence and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility, where he is being held pending his first court appearance.
Prosecutor Suarez credited the Special Victims Unit, Hudson County Regional S.W.A.T., and the Jersey City Police Department with the investigation and arrest.
The charges are accusations, and Bordeaux is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
