Jaida Guerra Breaks Union City High Scoring Record

Union City High School’s Jaida Guerra broke the all-time scoring record this past weekend. The 5’6″ guard, who plays both point and shooting guard, has been a key player for the varsity team since her freshman year.

In addition to her high school career, Guerra represented Puerto Rico in the 2024 U17 World Cup. She has committed to play college basketball at Bryant University.
“It feels great, honestly and truly a blessing to be able to hold such a high accomplishment like that,” Guerra said. “I couldn’t have done it without my parents and the coaching staff. They constantly pushed me every single day to get to this moment today!”
Looking ahead, she believes the record could eventually be broken. “There’s a nice young class coming in that I look forward to watching grow! I would definitely be there when it is broken!”
Guerra’s performance continues to bring recognition to Union City’s basketball program as she prepares for the next stage in her career.
