Harrison, NJ – Midge Purce, the 2023 NWSL Championship MVP, has re-signed with Gotham FC for the 2025 season. Purce, who suffered a season-ending knee injury last year, announced her return with a simple statement: “I’m back.”

The 29-year-old forward will rejoin Gotham FC at their preseason training camp in Marbella, Spain. Purce helped secure the team’s first NWSL title in 2023 by assisting two goals in the championship match. She has scored 16 goals for the club and holds multiple franchise records.

“Midge brings a number of great qualities to our team, and her dynamism and experience are great additions to our talented attacking group,” said Yael Averbuch West, Gotham FC’s general manager.

On the international stage, Purce has five goals in 30 appearances with the U.S. Women’s National Team and was part of the 2024 W Gold Cup-winning squad. Off the field, she is a vocal advocate for women in sports and co-founded the Black Women’s Player Collective.
