Weehawken, NJ – Jacob Jarrett and LJ Ruiz, both proud Hudson County natives and graduates of High Tech High School, will cover Super Bowl LVIII in New Orleans this week, marking their second straight year reporting from the event. Raised in Hoboken and Weehawken, respectively, Jarrett and Ruiz are growing stars in journalism through their podcasting, live interviews, and digital storytelling.

Their professional journeys include Ruiz’s extensive WWE coverage, having conducted interviews in cities such as Los Angeles, Detroit, and Puerto Rico. His LuruMedia TikTok account, where he shares sports and entertainment content, has garnered over 30,000 followers. Meanwhile, Jarrett has hosted podcasts like The Cold Hard Truth, which aired on Fox Sports AM radio and featured appearances by professional athletes and Hall of Famers.

Both are communications graduates—Jarett from Quinnipiac University, where he specialized in sports studies, and Ruiz from West Virginia University. The duo has collaborated on multiple podcasts, offering insights on sports, media, and entertainment.

Following their Super Bowl coverage, both journalists will join HudPost to bolster local sports reporting in the wake of The Jersey Journal’s closure, which has left a gap in high school news coverage.

“This is an incredible opportunity to not only cover the Super Bowl but also give back to our hometown by supporting local journalism,” said Jarrett.

Ruiz added, “From interviewing WWE superstars nationwide to now covering the Super Bowl again, it’s all about pushing forward and staying true to our passion for media and storytelling. We’re definitely super excited to join HudPost and help grow local sports coverage.”
