New Jersey City University (NJCU), Stevens Institute of Technology, and Saint Peter’s University will collectively receive more than $61.17 million through the New Jersey Higher Education Capital Facilities Grant Program, according to the Office of the Secretary of Higher Education (OSHE).
NJCU received $44.4 million across 46 approved projects. Funded improvements include HVAC replacements in Hepburn Hall and Guarini Library, new generators, security upgrades, elevator modernization, and classroom renovations. Multiple projects also target roof repairs, electrical system updates, and ADA accessibility enhancements.
Stevens Institute of Technology was awarded $11.15 million for two projects. A $8.24 million grant will support renovations to the Williams Library, including maintenance upgrades and expansion of digital learning spaces. An additional $2.91 million will fund structural and safety improvements to Peirce and Kidde Halls, including slate roof replacement and masonry repairs.
Saint Peter’s University will receive $5.62 million for five infrastructure and safety-related projects. These include boiler replacements at McDermott Hall, drainage improvements at Loyola Hall, and fire alarm, egress lighting, and electrical panel upgrades across several facilities.
The funding is part of a $244.4 million statewide allocation through the Higher Education Capital Improvement Fund (CIF) and the Higher Education Facilities Trust Fund (HEFT). Awards are based on a competitive application process initiated in August 2025 and are contingent on bond issuance.
