Hoboken Man Arrested on Heroin and Cocaine Distribution Charges

A 34-year-old Hoboken man was arrested Thursday on multiple narcotics distribution charges following a month-long investigation by the Hoboken Police Department Street Crimes Unit, the department announced.
Tajhmere Rhone was identified as a suspect in multiple narcotics transactions and was determined to be distributing controlled dangerous substances from his residence on the 300 block of Harrison Street, according to police. The investigation was initiated in response to resident complaints of suspected drug sales and trespassing on Hoboken Housing Authority property.
At approximately 5 a.m. on April 24, Hoboken Police, with assistance from the Hudson County Regional SWAT Team, executed a search warrant and arrested Rhone at his home. Officers recovered suspected heroin, cocaine, and U.S. currency believed to be proceeds from narcotics distribution.
Rhone was charged with sale of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute, possession with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school zone, possession with intent to distribute within 500 feet of public housing, endangering the welfare of a minor, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing.
“I commend the thorough work of our Street Crimes Unit, who saw this case from start to finish,” said Police Chief Steven Aguiar. “We take all resident complaints seriously and will continue to act on them. Drug activity is not tolerated in Hoboken.”
