Bayonne Man Charged With Possessing Child Sex Abuse Material
A 28-year-old Bayonne resident was arrested on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, following an investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Anthony Santiago was charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child by possessing child sex abuse material, a third-degree crime. He was taken into custody at Bayonne Police Headquarters without incident and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.
According to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, the investigation began in July 2024 when authorities received a tip that child sex abuse material was being uploaded via a Snapchat account. Detectives later discovered hundreds of files linked to Santiago’s online accounts and electronic devices.
Acting Prosecutor Wayne Mello credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Special Victims Unit, Cyber Crimes Unit, and the Bayonne Police Department for their roles in the investigation and arrest.
