Hudson Regional Health to Train Orthopedic Surgeons Starting This Summer

Hudson Regional Health and New York Medical College announced the launch of an orthopedic surgery residency program at HRH facilities, with the first class of residents set to begin this summer.
The program received approval from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, the national body that approves medical training programs in the United States. The approval builds on an academic partnership the two institutions announced in December 2025, which established HRH as a training site for medical students in family medicine, internal medicine, and surgery at its hospitals in Secaucus, Bayonne, and Hoboken.
“This milestone enables the admission of our inaugural class of orthopedic residents this July and reflects our steadfast commitment to advancing the quality of healthcare in Hudson County,” said HRH Chairman Yan Moshe.
HRH CEO and President Dr. Nizar Kifaieh said the residency program marks a step forward in the health system’s growth as a teaching institution. “We are proud to welcome our first class of orthopedic surgery residents this summer and further strengthen our partnership with New York Medical College,” Kifaieh said.
Neil Schluger, dean of the NYMC School of Medicine, said the expansion benefits both the institution and the community. “Expanding NYMC’s graduate medical education programs in partnership with HRH allows us to prepare the next generation of physicians in diverse clinical environments while supporting the delivery of outstanding care in Hudson County,” Schluger said.
Founded in 1860, New York Medical College is based in Westchester County, New York, and operates 40 residency and fellowship programs across teaching hospitals in four states.
