Weehawken After School Program

ArtHaus, Weehawken and Hudson County’s newest creative hub, is set to launch a new series of creative workshops and after-school programs beginning in September. The initiative marks the start of its fall programming, offering community members access to a wide range of artistic and music-based instruction.

The first session, (Ableton Live), titled “Why Your Track is Whack: Let’s Fix Your Track,” will be led by producer and engineer Jerrell Battle. Up next, visual artist Loreto Oreckinto will host a painting workshop titled “What Represents You: Painting Experience.” Other workshops include a guitar session led by local musician Jack Skuller. The program will continue throughout the season with sessions on creative writing, DJing, music production, and visual arts.

Also beginning in September, ArtHaus will launch its after-school programs: “Join the Band” and “Young Producers of Tomorrow.” These are designed for youth interested in live music and digital production using Ableton Live. Additional offerings include classes in guitar, piano, bass, and DJing, along with new daytime “Mommy & Me” sessions and special community events.

Later in the fall, ArtHaus will introduce a membership program and a monthly event series called “Be My Guest.”

“The idea is to offer interesting, affordable, and fun workshops and after-school programs for the community,” according to ArtHaus staff. Organizers encourage community input to help shape future programming.

ArtHaus is located in Weehawken, New Jersey, and serves as a hub for music and arts education for children, teens, and adults.
