Unidentified Motorcyclists Flee Hoboken Police

The Hoboken Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying individuals involved in a recent incident involving the illegal operation of motorcycles through city streets.
According to police, at approximately 7:15 p.m. on August 25, three motorcycles entered Hoboken via the 14th Street Viaduct and proceeded south on Willow Avenue. Officers observed that none of the riders were wearing helmets, and all disregarded traffic signals.
A short time later, the same motorcycles were seen on Washington Street. Police reported that the riders evaded several attempts by officers to stop them, continuing to travel through Hoboken while ignoring red lights and stop signs.
Two of the motorcycles left Hoboken via the 14th Street Viaduct and were last seen heading into Jersey City. The third motorcycle, carrying two individuals, exited the city over the Park Avenue Bridge into Weehawken.
The Detective Bureau Street Crimes Unit is continuing the investigation. Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding the identities of the riders or surveillance video from August 25 between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to contact Detective Sergeant William Collins at (201) 420-2100 ext. 3152 or CollinsW@hobokenpdnj.gov
