Rep. Ilhan Omar to Speak at Jersey City Rally

U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar will visit Jersey City this Saturday, September 20, to speak at a Rally for Working Families hosted by the Ali for Jersey City campaign. The event will begin at 1:00 p.m.

According to a statement from the campaign, the rally “will bring together community voices to highlight justice, safety, and opportunity for working families in Jersey City.”

“Across this country, families are under attack by an authoritarian administration,” said Rep. Omar. “We won’t be silent. I’m proud to stand up with Jersey City, Mussab Ali, and the immigrant and working-class communities that make our country great.”

Mayoral candidate Mussab Ali welcomed the congresswoman’s participation and emphasized the challenges facing local residents.

“I’m honored to welcome Rep. Ilhan Omar to Jersey City as we rally for working families,” said mayoral candidate Mussab Ali. “Jersey City’s working communities are facing rising costs, daily struggles to make ends meet, and a Trump administration bent on undermining them at every turn.”
