O’Dea Launches Digital Ad Campaign, Targets McGreevey’s Record

Mayoral candidate and Hudson County Commissioner Bill O’Dea has launched a six-figure digital advertising campaign aimed at Jersey City voters across multiple platforms, including Connected TV, OTT, YouTube, and social media.

The campaign began with the release of two 15-second video ads. The first ad, titled “Helping People,” highlights O’Dea’s career in public service and positions him as a candidate focused on assisting residents and building affordable housing.

The second ad, “Down Here,” criticizes opponent Jim McGreevey’s record, citing his tenure as Mayor of Woodbridge and his time in the New Jersey Legislature. The ad claims McGreevey failed to build affordable housing as mayor and voted for what the campaign describes as the largest tax increase in the state’s history.

“The contrast between Bill O’Dea and Jim McGreevey could not be more clear, and these ads are meant to drive those differences home for Jersey City voters,” said O’Dea campaign strategist Phil Swibinski. “While Bill O’Dea has spent his career in public service consistently helping people in need, building affordable housing and fighting for his constituents, Jim McGreevey didn’t build any affordable housing as Mayor of Woodbridge — not even one unit — and voted for the biggest tax increase in New Jersey history.”
