The North Bergen High School (NBHS) Marching Band secured first place overall this past weekend, earning additional honors for Best Music and Best Visual Performance. The latest win solidifies NBHS’s standing as the top-ranked Group A marching band among 106 programs in the nine-state Mid-Atlantic region.

“I am very happy to announce that the NBHS Marching Band has had another very successful weekend,” said Superintendent Dr. George Solter. “Their dedication and artistry continue to make our community proud.”

NBHS currently holds the number one ranking among bands from Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, West Virginia, Delaware, Virginia, New York, North Carolina, and Ohio.

The band will continue its competitive season at three upcoming events: the Region 10 Championships on Sunday, Oct. 19, at West Essex High School in North Caldwell; the New Jersey State Championships on Saturday, Oct. 25, at Toms River East High School; and the National Championships on Sunday, Nov. 2, in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

“Congratulations to the faculty and students of the music department for their tremendous success this season,” said Mayor Nicholas Sacco. “Their hard work, creativity, and commitment continue to bring great pride to North Bergen.”
