On March 10th, North Hudson Regional Firefighters worked to put out a warehouse fire in North Bergen. The structure belongs to Royal Rail Transload Facility located on 3700 West Side Avenue.
Royal Rail Transload Facility (Royal Rail) operates a facility that receives and processes 700 tons per day of Type 13C (Construction & Debris) solid waste, wood and scrap metal. The facility consists of a 9,544 square foot transload building, a scale house/office trailer, several scales, a utility maintenance shed, air handling system, front-end loaders, forklifts, portable storage vaults, underground leachate collection system and roll-off containers. Most of the facility is asphalt-paved.
North Bergen Police department have said that there is “no suspicion” of foul play, however, the cause is still under investigation. No injuries were reported and the structure was deemed “okay”.
