Chelsea Handler to Tape Netflix Special in Jersey City

Comedian Chelsea Handler will tape her fourth Netflix comedy special at the Loew’s Jersey Theatre in Jersey City on Saturday, Dec. 12, with two shows at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

General ticket sales open Friday, Oct. 23, at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster and Handler’s website. A presale began Wednesday, and Handler has shared the code SPECIAL with fans.

The Jersey City taping is part of her High and Mighty Tour.

“It’s my duty as a comedian to light things up, so I’ll be highly and mightily doing just that,” Handler said. “Laughter is medicine, and I’m your doctor.”

Handler hosted E!’s “Chelsea Lately” for seven years, was the only woman hosting a late-night talk show during that run, and has written seven New York Times best-sellers. Her third Netflix special, “The Feeling,” premiered in March 2025. She also hosts the “Dear Chelsea” podcast, which streams on Netflix.

The Loew’s Jersey opened in 1929 as one of five famed “Wonder Theatres.” After decades of limited use, the Journal Square landmark has been restored through a partnership between the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency, the state and Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, which runs the venue.
