Mayra Moncayo-Baez, a North Bergen mother said she felt it was “shameful and disgraceful” after North Bergen High School announced that they would not be holding a prom for graduating seniors.

“My amazing friend and planner @partyPerfection_NJ helped me execute this event for my daughter and a few friends,” says Mancayo-Baez, “But as parents myself and my husband, Angel, went full steam ahead to create a magical moment for deserving seniors especially after a crazy year.”

The backyard prom was made possible by the donations and services of local businesses.

“We are so grateful to have been able to make it possible and create a good memory out of the chaos.”
