Major Law Firm Expands to Bayonne Through Merger with Local Attorney
On October 15, representatives of Mandelbaum Barrett PC and Bayonne city officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the firm’s expansion into Bayonne through a merger with local attorney Linda J. Hockstein’s practice.
Hockstein, a real estate attorney, is now a partner in Mandelbaum Barrett PC. The new Bayonne office, located at 660 Broadway, continues a family legacy at the same address, where Hockstein’s father operated an insurance agency. Founded in Newark in 1930, Mandelbaum Barrett is headquartered in Roseland, New Jersey, with offices in New Jersey, New York, Florida, and Colorado.
The firm describes its services as “a full-service approach to legal services.” Its practice areas include real estate, land use and zoning, trusts and wills, elder law, family law, personal injury, and special needs.
Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis said, “I would like to congratulate Linda Hockstein and to welcome Mandelbaum Barrett to Bayonne. The firm’s decision to expand its operations to Bayonne is a sign of our community’s growing importance in the regional economy.”
Hockstein is the fourth generation of her family to work in Bayonne. Her great-grandfather, Joseph Hockstein, built the DeWitt Theater at 25th Street and Broadway. Her grandfather, Ben Hockstein, founded an insurance agency that was later continued by her father, Donald Hockstein, at the current site of the law office.
