Gotham FC to Provide 10,000 Kids Free Tickets and Play-Based School Programs
Gotham FC is teaming up with the Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund and Playworks New York/New Jersey to launch Elevate Play, a program that will give 10,000 kids and their families free tickets to soccer games in 2026.
The program also brings fun, play-based learning to schools and community groups across New York and New Jersey. Playworks will lead 20 training sessions to help teachers and staff create active, respectful, and inclusive play for kids.
The goal is to help children be more active, especially since many do not get enough physical activity each day. Elevate Play also helps families who may not be able to afford tickets to live sports events.
Funding comes from the Illumination Fund’s new $10 million Play to Thrive program, which supports youth sports and mental health.
“Elevate Play is helping kids grow and giving more families a chance to enjoy live sports,” said Laurie M. Tisch, president of the Illumination Fund.
“From school playgrounds to the stadium, Elevate Play brings more kids into the game,” said Ryan Dillon, chief business officer of Gotham FC.
“Play helps children build confidence and friendships,” said Robin Grossman, executive director of Playworks NY/NJ.
