Gotham FC Clinches Playoff Spot

Gotham FC secured its third consecutive playoff berth following a 2-2 draw against Racing Louisville, setting the stage for a critical Decision Day matchup against the North Carolina Courage.

The final game of the National Women’s Soccer League regular season will kick off at 5 p.m. ET on Sunday, Nov. 2, and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN. As part of the league’s Decision Day, 12 of the 14 NWSL teams will compete simultaneously to determine the final playoff seeding.

Gotham FC (9-7-9, 36 points) currently holds seventh place in the standings. While a playoff spot is already secured, the team remains in contention to finish as high as fourth. A top-four finish would grant Gotham home-field advantage in the opening round of the 2025 NWSL Playoffs.

To host a quarterfinal match, Gotham must defeat North Carolina and receive additional help. Kansas City must win or draw against San Diego in their match, and Houston must win or draw against Portland.

North Carolina, currently in ninth place, enters the match in a must-win scenario. The Courage need a victory over Gotham and a Racing Louisville loss or draw against Bay FC to secure a postseason berth.

The opening round of the NWSL Playoffs will take place from Nov. 7 to 9, with match dates and times to be announced after the regular season concludes.
