NORTH BERGEN, NJ– During the monthly, October 16 Board of Education meeting, Dr. Solter and the Board recognized the 22 students who earned a perfect score on the Spring 2019 NJ Student Learning Assessment. NJSLA tests students on English Language Arts/Literacy, Mathematics and Science.

“It is great to celebrate our student’s accomplishments because it encourages them and their peers to continue to excel,” said Dr. Geroge Solter, Superintendent of Schools. “This assessment measures a student’s aptitude to succeed in the following grade level. We are eager to see where our star students go from here and we will be celebrating their future successes along the way. ”

The New Jersey Student Learning Assessment measures students’ academic performance with grade-level standards. This is a helpful tool in measuring a student’s success in school and for teachers to determine whether or not a child is on track and ready for the next grade or college. A perfect score was 850. The average statewide score for English Language Arts/Literacy was 758, for Geometry was 736, for Algebra 1 was 744 and for Algebra 2 was 756.
