Chief Robert Geisler Retires After Seven Years Leading Bayonne Police

Chief Robert Geisler has retired from the Bayonne Police Department following seven years as chief and more than 30 years of service.
The department credited Geisler with steady leadership during his tenure, including through the COVID-19 pandemic. According to a statement from the Bayonne Police Department, “Chief Geisler has led our department with strength, compassion, and vision. He guided us through the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring the safety of both our officers and our community while continuing to uphold the highest standards of service.”
Geisler was recognized for supporting departmental operations and officer safety. “Chief Geisler has consistently supported the men and women of this department, advocating for the resources we need to do our jobs effectively and safely,” the department stated.
The department expressed appreciation for his service, stating, “We are grateful for his unwavering commitment to both the department and the community he served over the past 30 years.”
