Mobile Health Unit Provides Free Heart Health Screenings in Union City

The Hudson Regional Health Foundation partnered with the nonprofit Save Latin America Foundation on Monday to provide free preventive health screenings to community members in Union City.
Services were delivered through the foundation’s Mobile Health Unit, which is designed to bring care directly to residents who may face barriers to accessing healthcare. Community members received complimentary EKGs, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol screenings, which are preventive services intended to help detect heart health risk factors and support long term health.
The event included support from HRH Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Sarina Sachdev, as well as partners from APEX Heart and Vascular Team, led by Dr. Anuj Shah, and additional Hudson Regional Hospital staff.
“Through our Foundation’s Mobile Health Unit, we are bringing preventive services directly into Hudson County neighborhoods, ensuring residents have access to the care they need to protect their health,” said HRH CEO and President Dr. Nizar Kifaieh. “We are grateful to Dr. Sachdev and our partners at APEX for working alongside our Foundation to provide access to care where it is needed most.”
The Mobile Health Unit was launched through Hudson Regional’s charitable foundation and will continue traveling to cities throughout Hudson County in the coming months. Community organizations interested in requesting the Mobile Health Unit for an event can submit a request through the hospital’s website.
