The North Bergen Police Department is currently accepting applications for a Class II Special Law Enforcement Officer. Candidates MUST possess a current New Jersey Police Training Commission Class II Special Officer certification from an approved Police Academy.

Applicants may be required to pass a drug screening and will undergo an extensive background investigation prior to any offers of employment.

All applicants must be a resident of the State of New Jersey and possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license during

the term of their appointment.

Essential Duties:

The Special Law Enforcement Officer Class II (SLEO Class II) is a part time member of the Police Department. The SLEO Class II may be assigned for not more than twenty four (24) hours per week to provide public safety and law enforcement services to the North Bergen Municipal Court ONLY.
