On Sept. 1st, 2018 the main power source to the Terrace Senior building “blew out,” leaving over 300 residents without power.

PSE&G took immediate action along with township entities such as the North Bergen police department and NB Cares.

No injuries due to this outage and residents are safe. The police department has assigned officers to remain on scene and conduct patrols inside the building.

“Thanks to all of the entities involved all of the residents immediate needs where met and they were fed and well cared for. Many seniors had to be escorted out or carried downstairs by first responders,” writes North Bergen mayor Nicholas Sacco. “Luckily PSE&G made restoring power their top priority and it was fixed in the middle of the night.”
