New COO Appointed at Jersey City Medical Center

Jersey City Medical Center, part of RWJBarnabas Health, has appointed Joseph P. Anton as its new Chief Operating Officer.
In this role, Anton will manage the hospital’s daily operations and collaborate with hospital leadership to support clinical services, including oncology, neurosciences, and cardiovascular care.
“We are excited to welcome Joe into this pivotal role,” said Michael Prilutsky, President and CEO of Jersey City Medical Center. “His leadership and vision will be instrumental in advancing our mission to provide exceptional care throughout Hudson County.”
Anton previously served as Senior Vice President of Operations at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals in Philadelphia, where he oversaw operations across three hospitals within Jefferson Health, a system of 32 hospitals. He was also involved in opening Jefferson’s Honickman Center, a $762 million ambulatory facility.
A Registered Nurse, Anton has experience in critical care, emergency, and trauma before transitioning into leadership roles. He holds degrees from Villanova University and Drexel University.
Jersey City Medical Center is a 348-bed teaching hospital and a Level II Regional Trauma Center, offering services such as women’s health, orthopedics, and behavioral health. It also operates one of New Jersey’s busiest emergency medical services.
